I'm back with new stories about my fieldtrip. Last Thursday I went to Lactasari and NuArt with my school. It's in Padalarang and Bandung, Indonesia. At first I thought that it will be a boring field trip. A day far from home just to stare at cows, goats, and sculpture made of steel, it's not interesting at all for me, except the NuArt one. Because I LOVE art. LOL.
First destination is Lactasari. The tour guide said that Lactasari is a farm. The only thing i can imagine is a wide land with many cows grazing and also their poop all over the place. But it's completely not like that. There are so many kinds of animals there. Huskies, goats, deers, rabbits, guinea-pigs, turtles, civet, and of course, cows ! WOW ! The place is also very clean. And I got the chance to do the milking thing too. LOL.
These are the cows |
- Tie the cow's tail to her leg so it won't hit you with her tail when you do the milking.
- Wash the cow. Clean cow makes a healthy milk. LOL.
- Wash the breast with warm water so you can extract the milk more easily.
- Put a bamboo beside the cow, making it as a gate, to secure the cow from moving.
- Apply a vaseline oil to her breast, so it won't swollen.
- Now you can do the milking.
At first, I don't even want to try it ! I'm scared, disgusted, and I don't want to hurt the cow. But everybody wants to try it. So finally, I really did it, and it's not that bad. It feels like you're pinching a blackberry silicone. LOL.
Some of my friends also got the chance to give the baby goat milk with bottle. But I don't want it. Despite of giving them the milk, I will catch them and eat them. LOL.
I've also done photo shooting with my friends quite a lot there. You can see it on my instagram.
I recommend this place to you. If you want to do an education trip with your family or friends, this is the right place. And you can also buy the milk with variant flavours. Chocolate, Strawberry, and even Cappucino ! Or maybe you just want the plain natural taste, you can buy it with a very cheap price. I think it's quite cheap for me. You can get one for just Rp. 5000,-. Cheap right ? You got the milk and the knowledge !
The second destination is NuArt Sculpture Park in Bandung. It's a gallery owned by Nyoman Nuarta, a metal artist. No, it doesn't mean he's dressed in metal style, he uses metals to make his beautiful creation. The first thing that poped out from my head when I heared about "Nyoman Nuarta" is GWK or Garuda Wisnu Kencana in Bali. It's a very big statue, and Nyoman Nuarta is the one who created it. It hasn't done yet, but I heard that he's going to start finishing that enormous statue.
This is the NuArt building
First impression when I look at the NuArt building is like "WOW ! So artistic !". There are so many trees, so green, so nature, with few statue surrounding the building. Because it's not prohibited to take photos inside the gallery, I only took photos outside the gallery. There are on my instagram. BEAUTIFUL !
Inside the gallery, we saw many sculptures from metal or polyester-resin. There are some statues that really impressed me like Woman in Red, Ms. Wooly, Nightmare, and Misery. All of creation has their own story, like about what inspire Nyoman Nuarta to make that sculpture. Most of the inspiration come from the crisis in 1998. I'm really interested in Woman in Red statue. It's made from polyester-resin. It looks like a sexy woman wearing a red gown and holding a violin bow, but she didn't hold the violin. The violin was hung beside her. The tour guide said that this statue is inspired from Nyoman's ideal woman. Sexy with red color, and he also likes woman who can play music instrument, especially violin. After he graduated from ITB and leave in Bandung, he married a woman who is pretty, like the statue. But she can't play a violin. So the violin is hung beside her. That's amazing ! Complicated but has a simple meaning inside it.
After that we go to the workshop. We painted a wooden sandals and making creation from clay. I did pretty well with this. Even though it's really simple. LOL.
I also recommend this place to you, if you like arts. If you're not, I don't think you want to go to this place. It would be very boring and you feel like there's nothing you can do there, because you can only take photos outside the gallery and there are only a few sculpture and statue outside the gallery. But it's worth it for me to go to this kind of place. I love the philosophy inside every creation.
Well that's all from my field trip. I hope this post helps you.
